Apprentices register with NB Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification and earn their Red Seal - Sheet Metal Worker through a registered apprenticeship, with technical training at the New Brunswick Community College (NBCC), the investment that keeps our contractors competitive and our members in demand.

Apprenticeship is post-secondary education you get paid for. Sheet Metal Worker is an inter-provincial Red Seal trade, paid on-the-job training plus in-school technical blocks delivered at the New Brunswick Community College (NBCC), through NB Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification, leading to a Red Seal endorsement.

What you need
Getting started.
- 01A high-school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent
- 02Drop a résumé and proof of Grade 12 at the union hall
- 03Register as an apprentice with NB Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification
- 04A willingness to learn a skilled, certified trade
To apply, drop a résumé and proof of Grade 12 (or equivalent) at the union hall, 1216 Sand Cove Road. The local works with NB Apprenticeship and Occupational Certification to register apprentices. Contact the hall to find out when the local is taking on apprentices and how to get started.

Stay current.
Safety and upgrading in Saint John are coordinated through the union hall. Renew your certifications before they expire to stay dispatch-ready. Call the hall to book.
